SEO: Mobile-friendly 2015

by | News

Mobile optimization is important, and it will be getting more so in 2015. The fact of the matter is that you don’t realize how crucial this is until you try to access an un-optimized website through your phone. We definitely do not wish this to anyone. It’s so annoying – you sit there, waiting for it to load for five seconds (if it weren’t for professional curiosity, we probably would’ve left after two or three seconds, tops); then, when it loads, it doesn’t recognize your screen so it looks like the desktop version of the site. You see the huge ads that, by the way, devour your traffic if you’re on a mobile plan, so it may end up costing you money, as well. The text doesn’t fit the screen, and the site works slowly, especially considering the fact that you have to swipe your finger across the screen in order to read. This is, of course, slowed down by the fact that the site also requires more traffic due to its size. All of this amounts to a horrible mobile experience.

SEO is an important part of the success of your site, but it can’t do anything for you if you site isn’t mobile-friendly. Many people nowadays access the Internet either through their phones, or through their tablets, and with the advent of wearable technology this is going to be even more so. This means that if your website is not optimized for mobile, many people will be frustrated, which translates into less traffic. This won’t necessarily affect your ROI, but it probably will. So make sure that it is optimized for mobile and get it over with.
