Some SEO misconceptions you should forget right now

There are many misconceptions surrounding the SEO field and some of them you should forget right now. Correction – all of them you should forget right now, but these here are the worst offenders. We’re talking about some misconceptions that can totally ruin your rank and can destroy months’, even years’ worth of efforts.

Your IT department can handle it

We’re sorry to say, but most IT departments (especially in smaller companies) can barely handle their own work. They are often understaffed and have to deal with outdated tech, and the last thing they need is the responsibility of following and analyzing SEO trends, keeping up with your rank, making adjustments, doing keyword research, organic link building, and more. This is more of an art than a science, which is why it’s best left to the artists. An amateur can often do more harm than good.

It’s all about links

It’s not all about links. Things used to be pretty simple back in the day – you got your keywords, you got your links, and you got your results. However, this is no longer the case. Things have gotten a lot more complicated lately, so you need to be aware of that. It’s not that simple anymore, so you need other things like quality content and social media. Focus only on link building and watch your site fail.

Quantity is better than quality

Nope. That’s not how it works. That’s not how any of this works. Quantity is important, but so is quality so if you think even for a second that you can get away with having lots of content on the low end of the quality spectrum, you’re wrong.
